Heartfelt Gratitude for Building My Dream Home

Building a dream home is a once-in-a-lifetime aspiration for most individuals, requiring immense effort, careful financial planning, and a touch of good fortune.

When we embarked on this journey, we were introduced to Uday Associates through our relatives. Initially, we had concerns about the cost, quality, and overall finish of the project. However, working with Mr Uday and his team proved to be an excellent decision.

My association with Mr Uday Shankar and Uday Associates is 30 years old. He is the architect and consultant of my first house built in 1993-94.

There were 4 coconut trees in my plot of 30×50. He designed the construction and architecture plan in such a way that no coconut tree was cut and the two-bedroom house came out fantastic. Everyone was surprised to see coconut trees were not cut and were accommodated inside and outside the house in a planned way. Everyone was appreciating the design and innovative idea very well.

I had the privilege of working with Mr Uday Shankar and Uday Associates for over 20 years, during which I have successfully built two independent houses with their team. Mr Uday Shankar is known for his practical and thoughtful approach to architecture, delivering designs that are both simple and functional, yet aesthetically appealing. His expertise in the field is truly invaluable...

I have had the privilege of working with Mr Uday Shankar and Uday Associates for over 20 years, during which I have successfully built two independent houses with their team. Mr Uday Shankar is known for his practical and thoughtful approach to architecture and delivering designs that are both simple and functional, yet aesthetically appealing. His expertise in the field is truly invaluable, his attention to detail and commitment to quality is second to none.

For our recent project, which was a 30x50 plot with a built-up area of 3400 sqft (G + 2 floors), we went through several iterations of design before settling on the final plan and elevation. Throughout the process, Mr Uday Shankar and his team were patient, receptive, and always willing to incorporate our feedback. Once construction began, the process was smooth and efficient. Uday Associates team ensured that our specific needs were met at every stage, from design to completion. They worked closely with us to ensure that materials were of the highest quality and tailored to our preferences.

I constructed my house in the year 2000 and the building construction and architecture was contracted to Shri Udayashankar. It's been 25 years of the house, and we are pleased with the superb quality of construction, the premium materials used, and I must say that I have been using the house without any repairs or additional expenditure. Shri Udayashankar gives attention to the smallest details possible and ensures that the final outcome is 100% as per the expectation of the owner.

Hello Uday Shankar, I hope you're doing well. I would like to share my feedback regarding the recent house renovation project and the Vastu considerations that were taken into account during the planning and execution stages.

Turning challenges into possibilities, Uday Associates made our dream bungalow a reality—spacious, Vastu-compliant, and perfectly tailored to our needs, all on a compact 1000 sq.ft. plot!

The journey of constructing our dream home began in 1998 when we decided to build a bungalow-type residential house. However, being located in an urban area, finding a large, budget-friendly plot was a significant challenge. As a compromise, we finalized a 1000 sq. ft. site measuring 25’x40’.

Our requirements for the house included:

A basement with car parking
A kitchen, bath, and toilet in the Ground floor
A bedroom for elderly family members in the ground floor
A puja room on the ground floor
Three bedrooms on the upper floor, with two featuring attached bath-cum-toilet facilities

Given the size of the plot and our detailed specifications, designing the layout and accommodating all our needs posed a real challenge. Additionally, we had to navigate constraints such as:

Limited ramp length for car parking due to the road width of 30 feet
Building height restrictions based on the road width and bylaw-mandated setbacks

To overcome these challenges, we approached Uday Associates. Their expertise and collaborative approach stood out, as they patiently worked with us to explore multiple layout options without any frustration. Eventually, they delivered a design that satisfied all our requirements without compromising any of our specifications.

In addition to the layout planning, Mr Uday Shankar of Uday Associates went above and beyond by identifying a water source for a bore well using his unique knowledge of divine water source identification. Furthermore, he ensured that the house complied with Vastu norms while keeping construction within our budget and timeline.

The result was a beautifully constructed, spacious bungalow that amazed visitors who couldn't believe such a functional and elegant house was built on a small plot. This accomplishment was made possible through our collaboration with Uday Associates, whose dedication and expertise turned our dream into reality.

We had contacted Mr Uday Shankar (udayassociates) to build our house in August 2004. He did a great job in getting everything done on time. We needed Stone walls inside and outside. Also, a wood gopura on top of our Pooja room. He got all of this done to our satisfaction.

Mr Udayashankar having his own organization called Uday Associates staying in Navrathna garden is reputed Civil Engineer, architect and builder. I am very happy to say that he has built my house in the same location (Navrathna garden). Right from earth work to finishing of the building he has done excellent work in all the areas like selecting suitable good quality materials of correct quantity without any vastages. The house building completed in 2003 & till today, we have not come across any inconvenience like corrections or rework like. On the whole I must say that he is totally the most reliable builder i could ever find. I wish him good luck & maintain the reputation.

Mr Uday has helped to construct our dream house a couple of years ago. He and his team were very professional and delivered a two storied building with four rooms within 15 months from the start of construction. It was very easy working with him and his team, and they were in general very open to any feedback that we had provided. All the staff working under Uday were very polite and extremely professional individuals and at no point did we have any troubles with any of them.

Uday's years of working in this domain shows given his great contacts across different vendors and agencies for procuring raw materials.

Work taken up for "strengthening the foundation and repair of wall cracks" during Sept-Oct 2024:

Uday Associates who were given this work did a very good job. They were systematic and finished in the time indicated and within the estimated amount given. Workmanship was good and each of the steps done was clearly explained.

Overall we are happy with work done and we have not seen any further problem.

Preventing leakage from terrace, through the beams and in the basement: I had major problems of water leakage from my terrace owing to some unscientific ways of construction. Couple of engineers I spoke to, suggested scraping entire layer out, add a couple of inches of concrete throughout and then replaster the surface of the terrace as well as the beams where there was water leakage. Mr Uday visited the site and suggested more intuitive ways of repairs. Surface plastering was done only on the part of the surface after proper treatment using chemicals. Grouting was done to take care of all the leakages in the beams. The entire work costed me a part of what was the initial budget. It’s been nearly 10 years now and we don’t have a problem till date

While Mr Uday is a pleasing personality, the best part is his team including Muthu, the mestri and even masons dont create any unnecessary fuss. The overall experience of getting the work done through Mr Uday is a pleasure. I recommended him to my brother who was facing a lot of water seepage into his basement. That work was also completed within the initial budget provided.

I would recommend Mr Uday and his team for any such work, not just for the skilled workmanship, but also for the over all experience dealing with the entire team.
